If you want to visit a place with good food around every corner and history on every street then visit Florence. The city is magic. Full of music and more stories than you can believe.

One magical place that unfortunately did not get its own post is the Galleria degli Uffizi. This ‘U’ shaped building was constructed on the orders of Cosimo I de’ Medici of Florence. The art pieces inside are fantastic. When you go, buy your tickets in advance and go early. When my friends and I visited it was late in the afternoon and sometimes we could only catch glimpses of famous works due to the press of people. It did not get its own post because I have no pictures from my visit. You can see at least one work here, if you are curious.

Fabulous photos Laci. Not been to Florence although visited so much of Italy, need to put that right in the future when this lockdown business is all over. Looks like a wonderful city.

Yeah we’re doing fine. Our lockdown is slowly easing so we can see some sort of light at the end of the tunnel. It will be a long slow journey but we will get back to some sort of normality soon I hope.

Ah… Florence! I was just talking to some friends in Florence, they can finally go out for a little bit. However, Brescia near Milan, they are still in quarantine. It’s hard to imagine WHEN we will be able to travel there. THANKS for making me HAPPY and sharing the photos. Viva Italia!
