Food in Amsterdam

While on this trip we had a lot of good food. We didn’t eat a ton of Dutch food (besides stroopwafels and those are delicious) but we did eat food from a lot of other cultures. I don’t think we had anything bad. It is too much to list everything but here is a sampling.

Recipe: Dirty Chai Meringues

A dirty chai is typically a chai tea latte with a shot of espresso. I let that drink inspire this dessert. I love the King Arthur Baking Espresso Meringue recipe; I’ve made it several times and these are always delicious. I used that recipe as this base for this updated version. For Christmas I was

3 Roses Tearoom | Denton, TX

It has been a while since I have done a Foodie Friday post. One thing I think all of us forget is the places that are localish to us aren’t for others. In addition it is always good to remember that there are wonderful things in our own backyards. We don’t have to spend a

Recipe Experiment: Summer Orzo Salad

Valencia: Aqua de Valencia

In addition to Horchata our walking tour guide suggested trying a local drink called Aqua de Valencia. The restaurant we sampled this at was super cute and the tapas were delicious. Our guide did suggest not trying Horchata and Aqua de Valencia on the same day – apparently it can lead to a stomach ache.

Valencia: Michelin Star Review

While we were in Valencia we treated Emily to an early birthday dinner. We had a 10 course tasting menu at a Michelin Star restaurant although we did have the option of 14 course. We did pick one that was on the more reasonable side regarding pricing. There were a few options but we chose

Valencia: Hummus to Horchata

We ate a wide variety of food while in Valencia and it started out with the first night we arrived. After a long flight, a missed train, customer service, a high speed rail line, and a long walk with suitcases we needed food. My little sis looked up anywhere near to our hotel and found
