Foodie Friday: Strawberry-Basil Meringue

I recently made Lemon Balm-Blackberry Meringue and they are fantastic, like biting into a cloud but I wanted to try some other flavor combinations. I have a couple of basil plants growing like crazy and decided that the next version to try was Strawberry-Basil. The flavors go great together already and were wonderful combined in this delicious dessert.

I used the same recipe in this version as I did the first time making it but if the recipe says lemon-balm replace it with basil and replace the blackberries with strawberries. The strawberries are a bit more difficult to mash than the blackberries were and I’m not as happy with the presentation. That being said taste wise, I’m really not sure which I preferred more.
