If you live in the Fort Worth Area and love fresh green you need to check out TexSelect Farms. They are at the Clearfork farmers market most Saturdays. Grab boxes are $20 and well worth the money. Most of the time they last my boyfriend and me two weeks. I have used these greens and herbs in a number of wonderful recipes that I will be posting over the next couple of weeks.
To start of what was in the last grab box? Wonderful things is the answer.
- Baby Romaine
- Red Garnet Amaranth Microgreens
- Petite Sunflower Greens
- Petite Mustard Greens
- Spearmint Bundles
- Spring Chives
- Sweet Marjoram
I also picked up fresh arugula and fresh dill.
For breakfast after the market we had scrambled eggs with cheese garnished with fresh chives and a microgreen salad of sunflower and amaranth (no dressing needed). If it sounds super healthy, it was but it tasted wonderful and was simple to make. I’m a firm believer that good food doesn’t have to be difficult to make.
Here is a preview of recipes where I have used fresh greens from my grab box:
- Pistachio Gremolata with Seared Salmon
- Dill-Chive Butter
- Mint-Arugula Pesto
- Corn Salad with Marjoram Dressing
We have also used these greens on sandwiches and to make salads. As I post these recipes I will link them above. The grab boxes also contain recipes, if you are interested please contact TexSelect Farms. If you have any suggestions for recipes please feel free to link them in the comments. As always, if you enjoy my blog please consider buying me a cup of coffee.
