Exploring the Places No One is Talking About
As you all have probably seen by now, Texas has snow and most aren’t taking it well. The temperature has been below freezing for several days now and may do not have power. The Panhandle of Texas does know how to deal with this weather, its the rest of the state that is freaking out.

Bear and I had a free Saturday while Keltin did photography and radio for Tarleton sports and I decided the day would be best spent outdoors and in nature. We spent most of the day hiking the Fort Worth Nature Center and Refuge. It is $5 per adult to enter and dogs are welcome as
Keltin and I love to get out on the trail and taking Bear out to explore. We also love finding local trails and recently discovered Horseshoe Trail just a few miles from our place. This is a fairly busy hiking and biking trail that gives you plenty of shade and occasional views of the lake.

The truth is there is not much around Johnson, Kansas, thus while visiting for nearly a week we planned some day trip adventures. One was to Capulin Volcano. Capulin is a recently extinct example of a cone volcano. By recently I mean in the past 60,000 years. It is part of the Raton-Clayton Volcanic Field.
