Hiking Horseshoe Trail – Lake Grapevine

Keltin and I love to get out on the trail and taking Bear out to explore. We also love finding local trails and recently discovered Horseshoe Trail just a few miles from our place. This is a fairly busy hiking and biking trail that gives you plenty of shade and occasional views of the lake.

New Mexico: Capulin Volcano National Monument

The truth is there is not much around Johnson, Kansas, thus while visiting for nearly a week we planned some day trip adventures. One was to Capulin Volcano. Capulin is a recently extinct example of a cone volcano. By recently I mean in the past 60,000 years. It is part of the Raton-Clayton Volcanic Field.
