Hiking Fort Worth Nature Center and Refuge

Bear and I had a free Saturday while Keltin did photography and radio for Tarleton sports and I decided the day would be best spent outdoors and in nature. We spent most of the day hiking the Fort Worth Nature Center and Refuge. It is $5 per adult to enter and dogs are welcome as long as they stay on a leash. Make sure you pack plenty of water.

We didn’t see any of the bison, they were hiding from the heat of the day.
Bear was worn out after only a couple of miles – so we relaxed on the boardwalk for a bit.

This is a beautiful park with many more miles of trails that I’m excited to explore and maybe next time spot a bison roaming this small part of their ancestral plains. Remember: leave no trace and safe travels.
