Weekend Wanderings: Resolutions

We are already in May of 2018, how time flies. Here is a question for you: how are you keeping up with your new years resolution? Did it last the month of January? Maybe your resolution is still going strong.

I had two new years resolution:

  1. Read two books a month
  2. Workout three times a week

READING

I’m behind on my reading. Trying to keep up with my resolution but I get busy and life gets crazy. Never the less I am giving it a good go. At least I make sure that I know what two books I’m supposed to be reading during the month.

Something my boyfriend does to make sure he reads enough is to read at least 25 pages a day. I should probably adopt this goal too.

WORKOUT

I am doing really well with this goal. Part of what helped jump start this was we did a weight-loss challenge at work. I worked my butt off and won it. Hard work and serious dieting – 20 lbs in 90 days. Needless to say I was sore and grumpy a lot.

Since then I’ve mostly kept up with my diet and I’ve kept up with working out, although I’ve shifted focus. My main focus was weight-loss and now I’m working on adding muscle tone.

Something else that has helped is having goals farther out. Keltin and I did the Ft. Worth Zoo run in April and we are doing another 5k in December. These are fun and they give us a goal to aim for besides just staying healthy. Also, having an accountability partner is great if you have trouble motivating yourself, thank you Keltin.

Let me know how your own resolutions are doing and have a fantastic weekend!

  1. Those are awesome resolutions I have two that I am trying to stick by this year 1) stop being so hard on myself all the time. 2) spend one on one time with both my daughters more often than normal. I am trying very hard and it seems to be working I feel so much happier and healthier as a family of three xo

  2. Two great resolutions and ones that are realistic and you can keep! Good for you, so proud of you. Yes, that outfit is awesome and you rock it! You inspired a resolution for me…cooking with more adventure. Whether it is trying new foods or using more fresh herbs and ingredients. Thanks!
