Halloween has passed and Thanksgiving is almost here but I had to share these photos. I’ve been wanting to do this forever with Bear and we had a ton of fun with it. Bear was such a good boy but once he was done, he was done. In his defense, it is HOT under that sheet.
Digital Photos
For this photoshoot we brought along a couple of different cameras. The first batch of photos we took with the Canon R5. This is a mirrorless digital camera and it allows for a lot of manual setting changes to get the shot you want.

Rollicord
These photos were taken on a 120 film camera. This film has 12 exposures per roll. The camera does have basic shutter speed and aperture but this camera does not have a light meter. I really love how these photos have an older feel, the colors aren’t as crisp as digital and the cool colors tend to stand out over the warm ones. Film is still developed in all the chemicals but now days instead of printing the photos the negatives are all scanned and digitized.

Do you prefer the digital or the film photos? Given the chance would you use a film camera? Let me know in the comments and have a great weekend.
Thank you KW Photography for allowing me to use your wonderful photos!

Adorable! I still have a film camera, but I never use it. Maybe you’ve inspired me to dig it out!

You should! You can get film here: https://www.bhphotovideo.com.
We get our film developed locally but if you have to send it in I’ve heard this place is good: https://www.indiefilmlab.com.
Once the film is developed they will email you digital copies and will mail you the negatives.

I prefer the pictures on film. It emits a particular atmosphere that’s somehow not achieved with the digital pictures.

Yes! And you have to be more deliberate setting up the shot and patience while waiting to see how they turned out.
