I love trying new recipes and not being able to travel as much has given me plenty of time to work on new flavors. After visiting the Hill Country Lavender Farm in June I decided to incorporate more lavender into my cooking. The results have been fantastic.

To start off I made lavender sugar which then worked its way into several other recipes. Two ingredients and an air tight are all that are required.
- Culinary Lavender
- White Sugar
I used 1 1/2 C. sugar to 1/4 C. lavender. If you have a mortar, crush the lavender a bit to give it more surface area and release a bit of the fantastic aroma. If you don’t have a mortar and pestle, don’t worry about it. Combine sugar and lavender. Allow to sit in the container for at least a week before using. Shake the jar occasionally to ensure all the sugar comes in contact with lavender.

This recipes is super simple and allows you to have a flavorful addition on hand for sweet summer recipes. What is your favorite lavender recipe or your favorite flower to cook with? Happy cooking!

Nice! I really didn’t know you could eat lavender.
