Paperback Perils: April Reading List

I hope that everyone had a wonderful Easter. I had a wonderful birthday (no, it’s not an April fools joke, my birthday is April 1st). I have found that I enjoy doing these reading list posts. Without further ado:

The Slow Regard for Silent Things

By: Patrick Rothfuss

This is a short companion novella in the same world as The Kingkiller Chronicle. But it is not a continuation of Kvothe’s story. This short text is a glimpse into Auri’s world. This text can be read as a stand alone but it will be much better understood if you have read The Kingkiller Chronicle. A neat thing about this novella is that it has been illustrated. I look forward getting a brief look into the strange world of the mysterious Auri.

Also the first two books in Kingkiller Chronicle are The Name of the Wind and The Wise Man’s Fear. The third book has not been released yet.

A Gathering of Shadows

By: V. E. Schwab

A Gathering of Shadows is the second book in the Shades of Magic trilogy after A Darker Shade of Magic. The first book ended successfully in terms of the goal but Kell’s world will never be the same. Things happened that will forever affect his life and the his Red London. A Gathering of Shadows takes place four months. Red London prepares for international magic games. Black London is coming back to life.

I cannot wait to read this book. I’m craving more of Kell and Lila’s story. Here is to book two being as captivating as the first one. As always, if you enjoy my blog please consider buying me a cup of coffee.
