Pacific Northwest: Early Summer

Keltin and I first flew into Seattle in October for our honeymoon at Olympic National Park. We decided to go back in early summer to visit Mount Rainier National Park.

Geoff enjoying the flight.

If you have not been to Washington state and you love getting out in nature to do some hiking, I highly suggest going. Not only does the state have three national parks (Olympic, Mount Rainier, and North Cascades) they have a number of state parks and a massive ferry system that provides some pretty great views.

We got a lot of hiking in along with eating at some fantastic restaurants both in Seattle and near Mount Rainier. The scenery was gorgeous and yet cold enough that even in early June we ended up using a wood stove to keep warm at night.

Wild flower at low elevation.

This was a fantastic adventure and I cannot wait to share all the trails, and beauty with you. Safe travels!

  1. I’ve lived in Portland my whole life and, sadly, have never been to any of Washington’s National Parks. Then again, I only just went to Seattle for the first time a few years ago.
