My recent trip to Kansas and exploring the history available right down the road made me wonder what I was missing out my own front door. What spots of history do I drive past without a second glance? It turns out that there is a decent bit that I have been missing. One of these is the 9/11 Flight Crew Memorial on Northwest Highway. I’ve driven past numerous times but never stopped until the other day.

This memorial is dedicated to the 33 flight crew members that lost their lives on 9/11/2001. That day was terrible and memories still haunt many. It is good though that those who lost their lives are remembered.
Even if we stop just for a moment it is worth it to remember those brave men and women that are no longer with us. And it is good to slow down for a time and reflect on what we, as individuals, have in our lives.

Such a poignant memorial and youre so right about stopping to see those things that are right on our doorsteps.
