Study Abroad: Cinque Terre: Summer 2012

My apologies for the hiatus on flashback Italy posts but things have been busy. While on my study abroad trip on of the day trips that we went on was to Cinque Terre. Cinque Terre is actually five cities by the sea. We only made it to two of them but it was worth it and gives me a chance to go back and see the others.

It has been a few years but I believe we started in Manarola and walked to Riomaggiore on the Via dell Amore or Way of Love. Before walking the path we actually swam briefly. The water was really cold at first but the day was hot and it was a relief to escape.

I love maps and signs, this one helps even if it is in Italian.

Waves crashing at the base of a cliff at the base of the trail.
Italy and Greece are the reason one of my favorite flowers are bougainvilleas.

Have you ever been to Cinque Terre? If so, what did you think? I loved it and would go back in a heartbeat but this time I’d take my amore.
