Weeked Wanderings: A Slow Drive Home

This trip we didn’t drive from Dallas to Kansas. We actually flew to Amarillo before driving to Johnson. Typically it is a three hour drive between the two but not on the drive back to Amarillo. When we left Johnson it was 3℉ and there were three inches of snow on the ground. Despite the snow it was a dry cold so not too bad. Even though the roads had been salted we drove slowly.

In Oklahoma we stopped briefly and the temperature was hovering somewhere in the low teens but it was a wet, slushy cold and I stayed out in it as little as possible. The truck had icicle hanging off it.
