Weekend Wanderings: Hop & Sting Brewing Company

Keltin and I finally made it out to Grapevine’s craft brewery. With as much as I enjoy a good beer I’m kind of embarrassed about how long it took me to visit this local brewery. Located near the historic Main Street with in door seating and a dog friendly patio this is a great spot to just relax for a bit.

We actually took our books and read as we sipped our beers. This brewery actually does a trivia nights on Wednesday and Sunday. They don’t have a restaurant at the brewery but during the time they are open their is always a food truck on the property.

They have actual menus but the board is more fun.
We tried a flight first! They have a wide variety of brews on tap!

Our flight consisted of the Monarch, a German Pilsner; the Remedio Southwest Wit, a German-style witbier; Sir Williams on NITRO!, Texas Brown Ale; Frigid Underworld, Imperial double stout.

My favorite was the Remedio; it was earthy with hits of herbs, not a typical beer but I loved it. Keltin really enjoyed the Frigid Underworld with its coffee bitterness and chocolaty undertones.

Natural 20 – Belgin Triple

The Natural 20 was a bit citrusy with a bit more hops but nothing like a pale ale. We also tried the Red Hat Vanilla Porter but I forgot to take a picture of it. The porter was a slightly bitter dark beer with earthy tones – a winter beer.

Is there a craft brewery near you? If so, what is your favorite beer? Drink responsibly and drink local.
