January Book Haul

I believe that I have discussed the it before on this blog but I love Recycled Books in Denton, Texas. Three stories and a maze of shelves. Perfect for the reader that likes to get lost among the books.

Once a year Recycled has their pre-inventory sales. Everything is 20% off; I don’t normally make a point to go to sales but this one is the exception because I always need more books even when I have a giant to read stack. I was good though and only left with five books: two for Keltin, two for me and one to share.

Ketlin and I read very different books. He was primarily looking for specific presidential documentaries but they unfortunately did not have any in stock. However, they did have these two that I was happy to pick up for him.

As you can probably tell from my last post, we are looking at doing a lot more hiking and camping. This book is older but its been reprinted and I figured it would be a good addition to our general collection. Besides, the cover feels cool. It kind of a rubbery cover almost.

Late last year I read Spinning Silver and Uprooted by Naomi Novik. I really enjoyed both of those books. I’ve never read the series that she wrote, honestly I haven’t heard that much about it but since I like what I’ve read by her before and because it has dragons I decided that I’d give it a shot.

Don’t make fun of me for this one. In high school I started reading The Legand of Drizzt and even through out college I read the series. I never played D&D I just really liked the character of Drizzt. I’m pretty sure what I’m saying is that this was a nostalgia purchase. It’s not Drizzt but it is R.A. Salvatore.
