My apologies that this is a bit after Halloween but honestly, it’s never too late for spooky stories.
Okay, as much as I love a good monster or cryptid story I would not actually go “hunting” for one. I prefer to read about them. That being said, I did recently go hike at the Fort Worth Nature Center. Greer Island is supposed to be the home of the Fort Worth Goatman/Lake Worth Monster. The Saturday I went hiking the nature center was having the Lake Worth Monster Bash for Halloween.
Read my post on the Lake Worth Monster here!
I didn’t really go to any of the events of the monster bash (guided goatman hike, hay ride, etc.) because I was there to hike but I did meet a couple of Bigfoot hunters while hiking Greer Island with Bear. It was interesting to say the least. Here is my stance on cryptids: do I actually believe in them, no. That being said, is the world a more interesting place with the idea that they exist, defiantly yes.
On this hike we took the Riverbottom trail to the Marsh Boardwalk from the Interpretive Center. We got in almost four miles on these trails but it’s mostly flat ground. The Greer Island trail is on the other side of the park and worth driving too. It’s a one mile loop trail.
