Writing Group: Poetry – Nature

It has been a while since I posted a writing group piece. I’ve been writing a lot of poetry lately in group, partly due to the fact I need something different since my big project is all pros. If you are curious about that project is it a much expanded (and updated) version of this prompt. Enjoy some poetry, enjoy some nature, and I will see you for the next adventure.

Crunch of leaves
Hits of cooler days
Shift from green
To gold and red
Twilight of the cycle

The world sleeps
Quiet rest in shades
So many shades of gray
Silence in the snows
Danger in the ice

Dawning, awakening
In shades of pink
Trees in vibrant bloom
Purple crocus pushing
From the gray sleeping soil

Verdant trees sway
Heat and sun and
Nowhere to hide
From stormy nights
Muggy afternoons

Sprout
Flower
Fade
Rest
Below the soil

Wait to sprout
Welcome the sun
Rejoice in rain
Sow seeds, new life
Cyclical life

We had a fairy ring in the front yard!
