After having booked this Mount Rainier trip I got an email from one of the various travel sites I’m on an email lists for regarding Native American restaurants. Going through the list I saw that most were in places that I wouldn’t be able to visit (I deleted the email and can’t remember the site to find the others) but we would have the opportunity to visit Off the Rez Café while in Seattle. The café is located inside the Burke Museum of Natural History and Culture on the University of Washington campus. You do have to pay for parking but there is a convenient parking lot in front of the museum.

This café started off as a food truck. The Off the Rez food truck can be found and enjoyed also. Their Facebook page tells where the truck will be located on any given day. Their prices are good and the café is open every day but Monday.

While at the café Keltin enjoyed the bison tacos. These tacos are not on a tortilla but on frybread. I enjoyed the wild rice bowl with chicken chili verde along with some frybread topped with lemon curd. I could have eaten more of the sweet frybread.

If you are in Seattle and want to try something a bit different I highly suggest this café. It is quick and tasty food that is just a little bit different.
