I’m still working on moving. Last weekend it was packing and this weekend it will be unpacking. Despite my complaining I love the place we are renting. Anyway, onto the book. I listened to The Wife Between Us from Audible.

I went into this book not knowing much about it besides the facts I’d heard it was good. And it is an excellent read (or listen). I’m going to try and tell you about this book without giving too much away. Hendricks and Pekkanen have crafted a thriller and mystery novel that gives hints as to the truth throughout but draws out the mystery so as to draw the reader into the depths and ugly, fascinating truths behind the story.

This book begins in what appears to be a classic love triangle. A jealous ex-wife is angry about her ex-husband’s new beautiful and younger fiance. She seems a scorned lover, don’t assume anything. Just read an let the story progress and reveal its secrets.

One thing that I can tell you about this novel is that I loved the character development of Vanessa, ex-wife of Richard. She changes as the novel progress, even if at first she seems static. Again, I don’t want to give too much away. This book is a fairly easy read while being engaging. Full of love, loss, pain, betrayal and games Hendricks and Pekkanen’s chronologically complex novel will definitely keep you hooked.
