Happy Cinco de Mayo! I hope you are having a fabulous Saturday so far, I know that I am. This morning started with a trip to the Clearfork Farmers Market. Eggs, radishes, strawberries, and a whole box of green from TexSelect Farms including lavender leaves. I can’t wait to make tea out of them. More on that on Friday. The gem of my morning though was the Succulent and Cactus sale at the Fort Worth Botanic Garden.
My experiment at trying to sprout my own succulents was unsuccessful to say the least but I still love them. My grandparents found me a neat galvanized steel container that I want to use as a rustic centerpiece filled with succulents (after I drill drainage holes). This sale was the perfect place to get the plants. The vendors were knowledgeable and helpful. This sale was sponsored by the Fort Worth Cactus and Succulent Society.
Here are my chosen beauties. I apologize if some of the images are a little blurry, the plants are small and make it difficult on the focus of a lens.
This is a Echevernia succulent.
This is one of the three Haworthia I picked.
My second Haworthia.
This interesting fellow is a Gasteria.
This little guy is my third Haworthia.
The center piece of my arrangement will be this beautiful Aeonium. This beauty was the last one the vendor had and was much sought after. Luckily I was able to snag him.
Once I get everything planted I will be sure to post an updated picture. If you are a fan of succulents or gardening in general I’d love to know what your favorite plants are to grow and enjoy. Have a happy Saturday and a great rest of your weekend!
Oh I love succulents we have lots in our home and garden xx
