Eventually I’ll catch-up on all my travels and documenting them but this is not that day. I am getting closer though. Last summer we went to Colorado and I had time to take a couple of short solo hikes while there. I was really out of shape while on these hikes and funny enough this trip really made me realize that I need to work out more and yes, I have been doing that.
These hikes were no more than three miles round trip and were beautiful. Both were fairly easy and decently popular. I did see a snake on the Mallory Cave trail and plenty of birds on both but no larger animals. That’s probably because of the number of people on the trails. Both hikes were rather rainy, make sure to bring your rain gear, at least a jacket. You do have to pay for parking for the Green Mountain trail, so please be aware of that.
I really enjoy solo hikes. I can go at my own pace, I can stop and take photos. That being said, I do take the proper safety precautions of telling people what trail I’m going on, when I get there and when to expect me back. Also, I do check in when I get off the trails.

Our state has everything except an ocean and for mountain lovers like me, I’m cool with that. Glad you enjoyed your hikes in our fair state.

I do love an ocean but the mountains are too fantastic not to visit.

I totally agree. Besides you can see to the bottom of the creek. 😉
