Writing Group: Poetry: Haiku

The first week that I was supposed to lead Writing Club the Texas weather decided to ensured that it wasn’t safe to drive. So to still get those creative juices flowing we all sent each other Haiku poems while staying safe at home.

Haiku: unrhymed poetic form consisting of 17 syllables arranged in three lines of 5, 7, and 5 syllables respectively.

Haikus

Mister Bear with curled
Paws upon warm bed, wind whips
Snug as a bed bug

Write write edit cry edit
Manuscript number four here
Aphrodite help

So so many books
So little time to read all
Buy or not to buy

Drip drip faucet drips
The winter storm reigns supreme
Stay safe stay warm friends

To our fearless leader who started the Denton Writing Club:

This might be goodbye
For now, our friends but you will
Thrive in bright places
