The prompt for the week I wrote this piece was exploring different types of Irony. I will admit, it had been a busy week and I took the easy way out and wrote a story for verbal irony (sarcasm). There are some that will argue that sarcasm is not actually a form of irony. To that I say, this is a I don’t care and just enjoy getting the creative energy flowing. This story is not one of my best but it did get a laugh, so I’ll count that as a win.
As guardian angels we facepalm a lot. Humans really need to look to actually look at the world around them, they never pay attention, even when not distracted by devices. So many incidents like this one could have been avoided.
All my human had to do was spot the squirrel before their pooch. The dog and I have spoken, he doesn’t want to kill anything but the chase is the best high. He says it’s even better than snagging marinating meat off the countertop to devour. I could tell he felt bad about tripping his mom but it could have been prevented by paying attention. I did manage to help them fall in a way that saved their phone from falling in the water – one less headache.
Now, I’ve spoken to my person’s partner’s guardian. They have no way to control that tongue of theirs. Thankfully the verbal lashings are mostly harmless, even if they are all questionably timed.
We had both been trying to figure out how to warn our humans about the questionable neighbors that were currently moving into the place down the hall – those people have managed to lose their own guardians and that’s never a good sign…

This was great, just great. What should have been an easy morning turned into a ridiculous one.
It all started when my dog got the idea that we’d suddenly jumped into the One Hundred and One Dalmatians movie and he wrapped me up in the leash on our walk through the park. As I crawled my way out of the duck pond my pup ran over to lick my face, acting as if nothing was wrong.
“Yeah, you are such a good boy.”
Arriving home, the first thing out of my partner’s mouth is, “did you know you are dripping on the carpet?” If looks could kill, they would be a pile of ash on the carpet.

I hope that you enjoyed this short and ridiculous little story. Bear has not done this to my but he does love chasing squirrels and rabbits. Who knows what he would do if he caught one. Let me know what crazy thing your pets have done. Have a good weekend!
