By The prompt for this story was to bring a Greco-Roman god or goddess into 2022. I had a lot of fun with this one, I’ve always enjoyed Greek mythology. My only edits are for spelling and a few little organization changes for readability.

The goat footed god of the wild turned off his camera. Modern technology was a wonder. People loved that he filmed in the forest, valleys, and great outdoors in general, they didn’t need to know that he lived in a cave in the mountains. His viewers just loved his ‘vibe.’ He didn’t even have to hide his goat legs – they thought it was a costume. Just wonderful!
In theory gods didn’t need money, just belief but he had never been a popular god. As it turned out the more his subscriber count rose the more of his magic came back to him. Fan worship was little different than the old school worshipers. The money was nice though – equipment wasn’t cheep.
“Does it really work?” Asked a voice in his head. “Do you have magic again?” The voice was fearful and nervous.
Pan turned to see the pure white doe standing behind him. “Artemis. Long time no see.” His voice was flat but not cruel. There was sadness in her eyes and she had been so proud once. His ancient heart melted a bit. “How long have you been stuck as a deer,” he asked.
The doe snorted. “So long that I only have a vague idea of what it is to be a woman. Can you help me? I don’t want much, just enough magic to transform.
The faun thought for a moment. Bringing on Artemis as an animal companion and calling her by name along with some moon and huntress imagery might be good for him along with bringing her adoring fans. People loved animals. If she could earn enough viewers to shift back then she could help him in return.
“I will help you for a price. Once you regain human form you must help me in return to retain my viewership. Any disagreement between us must be kept private and not be told in our public lives. Swear this to me by your magic and by your name.”
“I do so swear.” Relief showed in her soft eyes.
“Okay,” said Pan excited, this was really going to help his viewership. “Here is what we are going to do…”
