I went to college in the Texas panhandle. The Amarillo area has a bit of interesting art work around it. I find these pieces of art to be intriguing and they add a bit of color to the area.

Tex Randall – Canyon, TX

Tex Randall stands overlooking highway 60. He was built in 1959 by Harry Wheeler. The statue was restored in 2006 after years of fundraising.

Huge Pair of Legs – Amarillo, TX

These legs were commissioned by Stanley Marsh and are said to have been inspired by a similar pair of legs in the Egyptian desert.

Cadillac Ranch – Amarillo, TX

Cadillac Ranch is a well known fixture of Amarillo. It sits on the service road in a field just off interstate 40. People park on the side on the service road to visit and paint the Cadillacs. Here is a video of students doing the Harlem Shake at Cadillac Ranch. This art installation was also funded by Stanley Marsh.
