2025 has been a busy year! I feel like I am playing catchup with my hobbies. I miss things and yet have little time for them. That being said its because I’ve gotten the chance to do and see some pretty cool things. This summer we spent a couple of days in Arizona before heading up to Utah.
Grand Canyon
We took the Grand Canyon Railway to the Grand Canyon. This was great because we didn’t have to drive and we got to see some country that you don’t get to see taking the road. Yes, the train is a bit of a show, a production. That being said, it’s fun. It adds some energy to the day – especially at the end when you are on the way back and ready for a nap.

The pictures above are on 35mm film. We were there in late September and the day we visited it rained a lot. No, I didn’t get to hike as much as I would have liked around the rim but the shadows from the clouds over the canyon were absolutely beautiful. Check out the rain in my video below.
This was my first visit to the Grand Canyon. While it is a breath taking sight, it was not my favorite national park on this trip – more on that later.
Sedona
We only stayed in Sedona for a day. I had never been to Sedona before and I didn’t know that it was in a canyon. The drive down into Sedona is absolutely beautiful. The city itself is super touristy and I don’t know if it is somewhere that I would go back to, at least as not the primary place I’m visiting. The landscape is gorgeous though and there are fantastic views all over the city.
This photo is also on 35mm film.
