I was in Granbury, TX recently and while exploring the Granbury square realized they had a bookstore that I hadn’t been too yet. Arts & Letters is an adorable independent bookstore that I could have explored a whole lot longer if I had had the time.
Nerd moment, this shop had all the normal book sections: history, fiction, non-fiction, romance but they also had some more specific sections. Some of these are: historical fiction, seasonal, staff suggestions, and mythology. The Christmas section is where I found The Carols of Cthulhu book. It made me laugh too hard and was too weirdly niche to leave behind. I also did pick up a new romance book that I have already finished… I have a problem…
A book section that I feel is really important and that has been growing at indie bookstores is a banned book section. I especially like that this bookstore says WHY the book was banned. Most of the reasons are absolutely ridiculous. People should read what they want to read. Book should be available to everyone no matter what anyone else thinks.
If you are ever in the area, this bookstore is defiantly one that I recommend visiting. I hope you are enjoying the holidays and read what makes you happy!

If you’re ever in Maryland, there’s an independent bookstore called The Last Word, where I participated in author showcase last month. There’s another that operates during the Maryland Renaissance Festival called Page After Page.
