By I really should do a post about all my favorite local bookstores but while I round up that list I did want to tell you about a new bookstore in Dallas: Blush Bookstore. No, this isn’t sponsored but I did stand outside for half an hour in the October heat for their grand opening weekend. Yes, October is sadly HOT still in Texas.
So this is a fairly small bookstore in an old house. The other half of the house is a cute candle making shop.
That being said, despite its small size I was able to find the next books in some romance series that I’m reading. So yay for genre specific bookstores. Also, I’ve already finished two of the three I picked up at the time of this post.
This bookstore has both books and bookish merch such as shirts, art, and stickers. When I visited the shop was really busy but the books appeared to be separated into sub-genres, such as but not limited to: dark romance, contemporary romance, YA romance, and seasonal reads. Within those sub-genres the organization seemed to be by author’s last name.
Due to the distance this is unfortunately not a bookstore I will have the opportunity to visit often but it is one that I’ll visit when in the area. Are there any specialty bookstores are you? Let me know in the comments!
