My apologies for my slow posting lately. I will get back to my Niagara Falls posts soon. I might have burnt myself out a bit to be honest and so I’ve been reading a lot. If you are curious as to my reading list, check out my book reviews or my Goodreads.
The solar eclipse and totality were one of the coolest things I have ever seen. I love stuff like this. Heck, I have a whole post about the Importance of Dark Skies. I bought eclipse glasses years in advance, they made it through a move even. In preparation for the eclipse we bought a solar filter for our digital camera, the pictures below were taken with that filter. We were so worried about the cloud cover in the lead up to this event. As the eclipse started, there were clouds but honestly they just added to the atmosphere of the event. When the eclipse reached totality, the skies were clear.

It didn’t feel real, it was like a magical blip. Something from science fiction and I loved it. I also didn’t realize how long solar eclipses lasted from start to finished, I don’t mean just the moment of totality. I mean from when the moon starts to move in front of the sun to when it passes completely. It really lends a bit more credibility to those scenes in movies where the villain starts some spell at the as the moon begins to pass in front of the sun, like they have a couple of hours to get things done.
My rambling aside, I hope that you had the chance to enjoy the magic of the eclipse. Safe travels and take a moment to enjoy the magic of the earth and the heavens.
Thank you KW Photography for allowing me to use your wonderful photos!

Remarkable image, Laci. Was so busy with commitments I didn’t see any of the eclipse so appreciate being able to view images of others who were able to capture it.

I did get to see it (partially). Sadly, I couldn’t get a good photo of it.

Good photos without the proper equipment can be difficult but I’m glad you got to see it at least.

Some great photos! I had a similar experience to yours, as far as the clouds; I have to agree they added to the experience, particularly by making the Moon’s shadow easier to see as it approached and left.
