Welcome to Phoenix

Earlier this summer Keltin and I visited Phoenix for a family reunion. The desert was absolutely beautiful, I loved it but I’m never going back in the summer again if I can help it. I’m not sure I didn’t melt. I did wear enough sunscreen to not get too burned but the dry heat was a bit hard on me and I’m accustomed to the Texas summer heat. Electrolytes are a game changer in addition to drinking plenty of water.

We stayed at the Hilton Phoenix Tapatio Cliffs Resort. This was a nice hotel with plenty of pools and a couple of restaurants on site. I don’t know if I would have selected this hotel if it had just been Keltin and I but for a family reunion with a few generations of people in a wide range of ages it was perfect. They also had a big meeting room for us to use. The resort also backs up to the Phoenix Mountains Preserve. I’ll talk more about this preserve in a later post.

This was a great adventure in the desert and I cannot wait to share it all with you! Have you been to the desert? If so what do you think of this bio? Let me know in the comments, safe travels and I will see you soon.
