Valencia: Beach Tapas and Tiny Pizza

We needed a snack while on the beach and stopped at this cute little restaurant called Cocoa for a beer and bite to eat. The restaurants on the water can be a bit pricy due to their popularity and proximity to the sea. That being said, it was still fun to stop in at to enjoy the patio.

If you visit Valencia the local dish to try is paella. That being said if you want it at any restaurant then you have to make reservations. We didn’t know that, didn’t have reservations and unfortunately did not get to try paella. The lesson here is make reservations!

For dinner on our last night Emily found a local pizza shop. Finestra was tucked away on a little side street and was packed. It is a tiny narrow restaurant where you order at the front counter. The place has wonderful energy and it was great to hangout in some place that wasn’t touristy. Their menu is super simple and we weren’t sure what type of pizza we were going to get – you order by category. These pizzas are quite small but tasty. The only pizza we specifically ordered was the one with the giant ball of cheese in the last picture and that was after we saw someone else with one.

If you want to see us break into this giant cheese ball, check out the video below!

I’ve heard different opinions on the food in Spain before going but honestly, we really enjoyed everything we had. Granted, we did enjoy a variety of meals from different cultures but that just added more variety to the trip. What type of food do you like to eat while traveling in a new place? Let me know in the comments. Leave no trace and safe travels!
