The Valencia Cathedral is a wonder in architecture variety. There are three distinct forms of architecture in this cathedral: Gothic, Baroque, and Romanesque. This is mainly due to the length of time it took for construction to be completed. Construction of the cathedral began in the 13th century and was not fully completed until the 18th century.

The two most distinctive styles that can be seen are the Gothic and Baroque. In the picture below the arches over the pews are in the Gothic style. If you look towards the front of the cathedral you can see the more ornate Baroque style.

Admission to the cathedral and the museum cost €9. The museum housed is in the cathedral is three floors of artifacts, manuscripts, and bones. The site of this cathedral was at one time a temple to Jupiter, and then a church, and then a mosque before becoming the current cathedral. Many were buried in the foundations, as each new civilization took over the city they tore down the temple to the old religion and built their own in its place.

This is a fantastic place to visit, beautiful architecture and art. It is worth the money. The cathedral also has free wi-fi so that visitors can use the audio tour. I’ve started the video below where we visit the cathedral. Let me know what you think. Safe travels.
