Valencia: La Almoina Archaeological Museum

The location where Valencia now sits once once a Roman city and those ruins can be seen at the La Almoina Archaeological Museum. This is a fairly inexpensive museum to visit and well worth the visit. There is information about the timeline of the city but the best part is underground. This museum is has beautifully preserved Roman ruins. I will give you a heads up that when these ruins were uncovered, the did find a necropolis and there are human remains in the museum. We did see a lot more bones on this trip than we expected.

Even if you don’t go into the museum, go check out the reflecting pool in front of it. Look down through the shallow water to the ancient city below. Do you enjoy archaeological museums? Do bones freak you out? Let me know in the comments. Safe travels.
