Keltin and I love exploring little towns. They are quirky and typically have good food and old buildings that present great opportunities for photos – Ouray was no exception. We were starving by the time we got there but it was still a bit too early for lunch so we wandered and found a bookstore.
On the way to the Great Sand Dunes National Park you come to a ‘T’ in the road and a sign that points on way towards the sand dunes and the other arrow points towards Zapata Falls. After exploring the national park we decided to visit the falls since we were already in the area.
Visiting the Great Sand Dunes National Park and Preserve was probably one of my favorite things on this trip and I’d go back in a moment. The landscape is so surreal. I knew where we were going but its one thing to know and another to see the giant dunes rising up above you. Walking
On the way up to Wolf Creek Pass out from Pagosa Springs there are a couple of places to stop. One is a scenic overlook that was closed while we were there. The other stop is Treasure Falls. This is a short trail (.6 mile loop) with a small parking lot that gets busy on
After our balloon flight and a jaunt up to Wolf Creek Pass we were all in the mood for something cold. Originally we were going to get ice cream until we came across P.S. Chocolates in a little strip mall on the way back into Pagosa Springs. I did get something cool to drink but

Our balloon flight with Rocky Mountain Balloon Adventures could not have been more different.

This was the best way to start our vacation. Our flight: Colorado Kolsch – perfect beer for a hot day. Slightly citrus taste at
The Durango airport is a regional one, not the smallest I’ve ever flown into but close; it was perfect for us and was closer for us as we stayed in Pagosa Springs. We didn’t have to drive several hours like we would have if flying into Denver. Durango is a neat town and the start
In September Keltin and I spent a week exploring beautiful Colorado with his parents and we stayed busy visiting breweries, small mountain towns and hiking every chance we got. I hope that these posts can help you explore this beautiful state! Where is your favorite place to visit in Colorado? Or what is your favorite
Summer 2019 has been pretty amazing. Not only did I get engaged to the love of my life but I’ve been on some pretty fantastic trips too. We started the summer off right Memorial Day weekend with a trip down to Fredericksburg and were able to visit some fantastic state parks: Old Tunnel State Park
