Hill Country Lavender

Visiting the Hill Country Lavender farm was one of the few spontaneous things that we did on our trip to Wimberley. We drove past it on the way to a state park for hiking and decided to stop by on the way back to the cabin. We did make sure to check the website for the safety measures required by the proprietors. This is an adorable farm with a small shop and lavender fields where visitors can cut fresh lavender.

The lavender wasn’t quite ready to cut while we were there but the shop was open and we picked up some fantastic lavender soap and homemade Lemon-Lavender Shortbread Cookies. I also picked up some culinary lavender that I have been experimenting with. I’ll post those recipes soon, they are perfect for summer!

If you ever have the chance to visit a lavender farm I highly recommend it. Cooking with lavender is an adventure. If you would like to see some of my past lavender recipes check them out below:
